DEA Poster Project
In earlier news items we informed you that DEA had obtained an Environmental Education Research Grant from the Federal Government
We are now in the exciting preliminary stages of producing our two posters for doctors waiting rooms – “Human Health and Climate Change” and “Biodiversity and Climate Change”.
These posters are a fabulous way for our members, indeed any doctor, to contribute to improved understanding of these potentially complex issues while jazzing up the waiting room. The posters will utilize the best evidence available, presented in a very accessible and attractive format.
The posters will be available free from DEA early next year – and we will contact all DEA members at the time to encourage you to display them. In the meantime – please let your non DEA colleagues know – and encourage them to register their interest in displaying the posters, by submitting their name and a contact via the DEA website.
Registrants can go to www.dea.org.au then “Poster Project”, or email sarah@dea.org.au. Details will not be used for any purpose other than poster development or distribution. Sarah would also like to hear from you if you would be willing to provide feedback during poster development.

Under What’s New we include a range of articles of environmental health interest culled from a variety of sources or written by members of DEA. Recent topics are a critique of The Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate, The Environmental Effects of Warfare, by Sue Wareham, president of the Medical Association for the Prevention of War, a report on the body burden of toxic chemicals in new born infants, the rapidly rising greenhouse cost of air travel, and articles on nuclear power. We encourage you to send viewpoints, articles and comments on these or other topics for publication (send to mountlofty@ozemail.com.au)
