Earth Building is Fun

Sarah Morton (DEA Committee Member) and her partner, Glen Morris (DEA Webmaster), are in the process of building an energy efficient house from scratch. They live on an intentional community in Victoria (Moora Moora Coop) which is totally reliant on self generated power, rainwater and mostly wood heating.

You can see photos of their first project, "The Workshop" that they'll share with their next door neighbours, Simon & Bindi. The Workshop will house their boiler and steam engine (combined heat and power). The boiler/steam engine will provide winter boosting of their renewable energy system while photovoltaic solar modules provide power for the other eight months of the year.
